WildHeart Logo with Lake BackgroundWildHeart: Center for Performance and Embodiment Practice is a land-based cultural hub situated in Wallkill, NY. It fosters new performances, hosts transformative events, and nurtures a vibrant community. Its mission is to promote a continuous cycle of cultural, embodied, and creative love. This requires extensive administrative, manual, and emotional effort, which it supports through providing food, housing, land access, studio space, event planning, logistical support, and marketing.

People can participate in events or rent the space to practice on its 46 acres of land with a private lake. The aim is to create revitalizing art, and the organization is eager to connect with like-minded individuals.

WildHeart follows a clear manifesto: society influences our bodies, our bodily habits influence our art, and our art can reshape culture. Through critical thinking, a “strategic detox” from societal pressures, and deep embodiment practices, WildHeart seeks to challenge harmful cultural norms and foster a more positive, cooperative community.

The organization structures its work around three pillars:

  • Performance Incubation: Supporting the creation of new works by resident and visiting ensembles.
  • Embodiment Practice: Hosting somatic research, movement classes, and mindful self-expression.
  • Deep Community: Fostering a village atmosphere anchored in mutual support and ecological connection.

  • Body-positive, anti-racist, queer magic.
  • Spiritual Practice.
  • Food Justice.
  • Explicitly Anti-Capitalist.
  • Innovations in Living Well.
